Evolve Actions and Developments
1. Website / Hosting – Geoff who works part-time for the organisation had put together a basic website using FrontPage. The Evolve Co-ordinator provided advice on hosting options, ensuring that the organisation understood what hosting was and the various options available. After exploring some options the organisation decided to host their website with COSMIC, who managed to quide them through the process.
2. Training – The Evolve Co-ordinator provided basic training on FrontPage to allow Geoff to make amendments to the site and upload these changes to the ‘live’ site. As well as passing on general tips and advice on the design and structure of the site the Co-ordintor ensured that they received advice on how to best promote the website and get it noticed.
3. General – As part of the support the Evolve Co-ordinator provided links to support websites such as Evolve, ICT Hub Knowledge Base, Act Now Cornwall, CRCC, etc. Details of a local ‘circuit rider’ were passed on who would be able to provide ‘hands on’ support if required and essential information on topics such as Health and Safety, Data Protection, etc were also passed on.
“From being ‘completely in the dark’ with regards to transferring our Web Pages from our PC to a new website, we are delighted to find ourselves with a Web Page which is fully up and running. We feel confident that having a web site from now on will be a successful and worthwhile venture”
“We are pleased to find that the support that we received whilst setting up the Web Site is continuing and that Evolve are still prepared to travel up to Bude to help us with any problems / queries that we may have. This is much appreciated.”
